Project DescriptionIn 2005, Communications Technology Broadcasting (Pty) Ltd was appointed by an international broadcaster to carry the replacement of a directional two tower MW antenna system in Sao Tome. The existing towers were corroded to such a point that they were deemed not safe to climb, even to change light bulbs. The contract awarded to Communications Technology Broadcasting (Pty) Ltd was to travel to the Island of Sao Tome, to carry out the demolition of the two 100m towers and replace them with two new 100m towers, much greater in dimensions that the existing ones. |

| This was done by demolishing one while broadcasting on the other. Then swapping over to the new mast, broadcasting in an omnidirectional pattern until the second new mast was complete. At that point the antenna system would be restored to directional. |
